Description
Why is grout used in filling joints?
BrickStone grout is used to fill the joints between decorative facing bricks to prevent moisture from entering the back of the brick and the subsequent release of efflorescence and salt corrosion. The width of the joint can vary from 0.8 cm to 1.5 cm. Depending on the temperature and humidity of the environment, the drying time of the joints varies from two to three days. For long-term protection of the joints from water, efflorescence and salt corrosion, it is recommended to treat the joints with a hydrophobic substance. To prevent cracks from appearing on the grout, the work should be carried out on a surface protected from sunlight, at a temperature of 5 ° C to 25 ° C.
